Microsoft's Windows Operating system is the most commonly used in our homes and offices. Microsoft, on second Tuesday of every month releases updates and security patches for the computer. Also in middle if required they would release the updates.
Windows Operating System by default reserve 20% of bandwidth for these updates all the time, thereby slowing down the internet connection speed.
Here's what you need to do in order to increase the connection speed. ( This will not prevent your system from connecting to microsoft's server for updates. The updates would still take place, when there is any. )
Steps that needs to be followed:1. Click on
Start2. Click on
Run3. Type
gpedit.msc ( This would open the policy editor.)
4. Now click on Local Computer Policy -->> Computer Configuration -->> Administrative Templates -->> Network -->> QOS Packet Scheduler as shown in the picture.

5. On the Right hand side Double click on Limit reservable bandwidth.

By Default it would show as Not Configured (but the fact is it still occupies 20% of the bandwidth, you can read this in the Explain Tab after you double click this.
6. Now On the
Setting Tab select
Enabled7.
Change Bandwidth limit (%) to 0 (Zero)
8. Click Ok
