After Microsofts Bing which gave quiet a hickup to Google , here is another from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). "Bhuvan" ISRO's Online Earth Mapping service has been launched today.

Bhuvan is a free web based image portal. Most Image visualization programs are very expensive and complex. Bhuvan provides a fast and friendly way to look at IRS satellite data and thematic information in geographic context, which is invaluable for management, planning and visualization.

If Google Earth shows details upto 200 meters distance and Wikimapia upto 50 meters, Bhuvan will show images upto 10-20 meters, which means you can easily see details upto a  three floor high building and also add information.

This would enable a common man to look into any part of the world through their personal computers using satellite images.

Nuclear installation and military areas are excluded.
